Sonoma Clean Power (SCP) is building the renewable resources needed to keep the lights on through the winter when solar and wind output are low and batteries are empty.

SCP is working to build up to 600 MW of new local geothermal power

The Geothermal Opportunity Zone (GeoZone) is in northeastern Sonoma County and southeastern Mendocino County, just west of the existing Geysers area, the largest geothermal complex in the world. SCP is partnering with Eavor and seeking additional partners to build advanced, low-water systems that can extract heat without needing to inject large amounts of wastewater into the ground, which also limits seismic risks. Residents and businesses in Sonoma and Mendocino counties can access this power by enrolling in SCP’s EverGreen premium service. EverGreen guarantees 100% renewable power day and night by combining local solar, batteries and geothermal.
